@lzg with cake this is literally a genre
(for those unfamiliar, “lemon pound cake” is called that for precisely this reason)
@lzg I’m confused about the “but” as if further justification is needed
@charliejane time for a little knot theory? :D
Refugees in Libya (@refugeesinlibya), who've been abandoned by the gaslighting organization that is the UNHCR, and the EU's funding of criminals to deter refugees by any means necessary, have a 2 day campaign. The only reason I've followed their unbelievable plight is because of their voice on Twitter. They've created an account on Mastodon so I suggest everyone follows them here so that we can amplify their voices once they catch their breath & setup a presence here.
@TarkabarkaHolgy reminds me of "Coll and His White Pig" from Lloyd Alexander's "The Foundling, and Other Tales of Prydain".

The Supreme Court was always going to be skeptical of the independent state legislature theory, even the conservatives. Surprise about that comes from being largely ignorant of the Justices' jurisprudence, instead believing only that conservatives like bad things, ISL is a bad thing, therefore the conservatives on the court will like it. The conservatives like all kinds of bad things, but to understand why and which ones, you need to know their legal philosophies, not just believe they're evil.
11th century Venetians wanted to take the relics of St. Nicholas home from Myra.
When they got there they were told sailors from Bari had already taken the saint. They were offered St. Nick' uncle as a consolation prize. Just then, they smelled the scent of holy relics and found bones that surely belonged to St. Nick.
For centuries both Venice and Bari claimed they had the REAL saint.
Modern research proved the bones belong to the same man. So, they each got half of Santa.

Protest matters. Protest just helped stop the SFPD from having the right to use deadly force using robots, a policy that the board of Supervisors overwhelmingly supported in a vote just last week. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2022/12/victory-san-francisco-bans-killer-robotsfor-now
@Gedalia I haven’t tried SD 2 yet but my results with 1 were way way lower quality than my results with DALL-E 2
