@mekkaokereke @peridotcoded copaganda is more prevalent on broadcast television, I think, so maybe wins out in volume. But I’m not convinced that’s the case with cable dramas or Hollywood movies
@ticalcorg plugged into a dialup modem with RTerm? https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/26/2670.html
@mekkaokereke @peridotcoded especially baffling given how much beloved pop culture is devoted to making cops look like buffoons and/or villains
The best thing about this latest Mark Rober video is that if you know what to look for, you'll see that it matches up with everything I've tried to tell y'all about San Francisco crime:
* SF is the car break-in capital of the USA
* Most car break-ins are not done by Black people
* Most car break-ins are not done by homeless people
* Police are not designed to help you with these car break-ins. Police are designed to abuse Black people.

@shriramk I’m pretty sure efficient staff allocation (subject to organizational goals and differences in staff skill sets) is reduceable to integer programming
@dfeldman anyway, fwiw my vote is “Commonwealth Fusion (or an existing project licensing/buying their stupidly powerful HTS magnets)”, although prior to about 18 months ago it would have been on a stellarator (over either ITER or NIF)
@dfeldman I wouldn’t claim to be an expert relative to anyone working on the projects in your poll, but I was a DOE National Undergraduate Fellow in Plasma Physics + Fusion Energy Science and had a poster accepted at an APS-DPS session, so probably an expert relative to 99.99% of the rest of the population (and know people working at those projects)
@dfeldman I really want the matrix showing how much the people who voted for each entry in the poll would say they actually know about current events in the fusion energy/plasma physics community. CFS is on a tear right now.
@yasmina 💯
shoot me an email! I've got time Thursday morning (EST) if that works for you.
@tuckerteague honestly trying to project this onto those 4 options would just add noise to your poll results.
@tuckerteague I’m center-bottom on a standard “political compass” quiz/meme
@tuckerteague this is....missing at least one axis?
@evacide I'm about 20% on each here so far and the engagement is actually higher I think.
Tired: Tech writers dumping on Mastodon without having ever used it
Wired: Political writers inventing a founder for Mastodon because they can’t read #JohnMastodon
