Question of the Day: what #anime #tv #movies #comics #books #videogames etc were you totally with and super hyped on for most of it, ready to declare it one of the best things you've ever experienced, ready to replay it, etc, but then had an ending that not simply disappointed but completely ruined any desire to revisit it?

@ami_angelwings Stephen King's "Under the Dome." The plot in the first part of the book was ostentatiously setting everything up for a dramatic confrontation at the town meeting where all of Big Jim's larceny and corruption would be exposed. In Chekhov's terms, that gun over the mantle wasn't just mentioned, it was taken down and lovingly taken apart, cleaned and polished -- and then it was put back and just left there. King caused the evidence file to be misplaced and the town meeting to fizzle out, and then just systematically killed of 99.9% of the town's population.

@KevinCarson1 @ami_angelwings the last half of Season 4 of the 2000s BSG reboot was the _worst_ failure to stick the landing of any show I've ever watched.
