The best thing about this latest Mark Rober video is that if you know what to look for, you'll see that it matches up with everything I've tried to tell y'all about San Francisco crime:

* SF is the car break-in capital of the USA
* Most car break-ins are not done by Black people
* Most car break-ins are not done by homeless people
* Police are not designed to help you with these car break-ins. Police are designed to abuse Black people.

🤷🏿‍♂️

@mekkaokereke re:the last one: this tbh is one of those baffling cognitive dissonances of white supremacy. Even in my privileged circles a lot of white people who will say “but cops keep up safe!” have had direct experiences where cops were clearly useless in the cases they are touted as being there for — and/or only community action helped the underlying harm.

Follow

@mekkaokereke @peridotcoded especially baffling given how much beloved pop culture is devoted to making cops look like buffoons and/or villains

@mekkaokereke @peridotcoded copaganda is more prevalent on broadcast television, I think, so maybe wins out in volume. But I’m not convinced that’s the case with cable dramas or Hollywood movies
