The hand of the Lady of the Lake holding Excalibur, from the Arthurian legend, makes me think of a major histocompatibility complex holding up a peptide fragment to proudly display it. This also explains why the hand doesn't sink into the lake - something to do with hydrophobic side chains? 😀
