@elfprince13 That's enough typing for today, i guess.
I'm leaving it.
@elfprince13 But also I am never going to use a platform that doesn't have an edit-after-send button again.
So, goodbye email
@ricci it was funny when I thought you did it intentionally but it’s even better now
@elfprince13 This particular roller coaster ends in shame
While I'm on the subject of embarrassing typos, I should probably tell the story of my most embarrassing typo ever.
I was just a student, helping my advisor with writing a proposal. We were doing a last-minute paniced final pass, with people literally running up and down the hall to yell suggestions for changes to each other. (Those of you who knew Jay will understand.)
I was asked to write a new sentence to introduce the proposal It was supposed to say "Since beginning our last proposal..."
That is not what I wrote.
What I wrote was:
"Since begging our last proposal"
As the very first sentence. Of the entire proposal. Which we submitted.
But hey the proposal got funded so 🤷
@ricci it type checks, parses, and even comes across as archaic/quaint
@ricci 💰
@secretasianman Hey I've got an idea, since you like this so much, NSF allows you to suggest reviewers for proposals and I don't think "shitposts together on Mastodon" is on the conflict of interest list.
@ricci That's epic. I aspire to reach your quality of typos one day. I'm afraid I still haven't progressed beyond "undeserved communities".
@gtw That's a pretty high-level typo though
@elfprince13 OMFG
