BOS ✈️ SFO
Flight is passing over central Wyoming and Idaho and I want to ski everything I see out the window.
@steve it's fucking deep out here, jump out of the aircraft and you should be fine if you hit a nice steep slope
@regehr I would try but they said I'm not allowed to open the plane door.
@regehr Also now I'm over Nevada and the landing looks a lot rougher.
@regehr Maybe when we get to Tahoe it'll look better again.
@steve Sierras are probably a powder drowning risk
@regehr On the plus side, we started descent before reaching Tahoe, so there will be less time free-falling in –70˚ outside air without good winter gear before reaching the snow.
@steve good thing you climbed Washington the other night to acclimate to wind chills in the -100 range
@regehr More bad news, we're passing north of Tahoe, right over Pyramid lake now.
@regehr (This was noon on Saturday, so not quite as dire as Friday night. It had warmed up to a balmy 2˚F at my house by then, so it was probably up in the negative twenties or even tens on the summit!)
