Strange New Worlds does. not. miss
@allynfolksjr we’ve been doing that too, in between episodes of new shows. But SNW has been absolutely hitting it out of the park. I think we are up to 13 episodes total now and it’s hard to think of a better run of 13 consecutive episodes of any Trek.
@allynfolksjr even season two takes a while to warm up. and I can’t get over how they really decided to make Bashir’s whole personality “sex pest” for. SO. LONG.
@elfprince13 ughhhhh. His early characterization is so bad
@allynfolksjr he eventually gets to be better rounded but we’re up to S5 now and he still pretty regularly makes objectifying comments that would just be considered workplace harassment now.
@elfprince13 I really just want Weyoun to show up ❤️
@allynfolksjr does Brunt count?
@elfprince13 I’ll allow Jeffrey Combs in all of his forms
@allynfolksjr so one thing that always frustrates me is how the writers give the Klingons, Bajorans, and even the MFing fashy-ass Cardassians pretty even-handed cultural depth, even in places where their ideals are in conflict with the Federation, and then the Ferengi are just … a big pack of negative stereotypes, and then when they get their reform moment, they get turned into vanilla Bernie Bro types instead of like…principled individualist market anarchists.
@elfprince13 they really did the Ferengi wrong. You’d think having them in basically every episode would give some room for depth but HAHA NOPEEEE.
@elfprince13 DS9 season one is _rough_. I don't remember it being this bad but w h e w
