@channingwalton you weirdly seem to be implying that’s *not* how you want to spend the evening?
@arossp and also if Mastodon in particular is able to embrace the sort of proactive cultural pluralism you advocate, rather than expecting migrants to adapt to the current cultural norms
@arossp it will be interesting to see if ActivityPub implementations are able to adapt to support real decentralization (and not just a few big instances with a bunch of niche satellite communities) at the scale of societal adoption that Twitter had

@dfeldman also - pretty easy to DoS current ActivityPub implementations even without trying to. The "killer" feature (everyone can have their own server) is also the **killer** feature https://mastodon.ar.al/@aral/109315412776960105
@patricia 🤞🏻
@dan I'm running a personal instance and I had to increase my swap file size this morning, I think just due to the increased amount of stuff getting pulled in from all the federated instances.
@enbrown @arossp So I googled this and interestingly the top result is a reddit post specifically naming journa as an instance that is commonly blocked by other instances. https://www.reddit.com/r/Mastodon/comments/yvks33/is_there_a_way_to_see_if_an_instance_is_being/
@enbrown Science! 🧪
Does it show you that there's a missing post, or does it look like I'm replying to your directly? (mostly asking for my own curiosity, I don't know enough to guess whether Liberdon is blocking Journa or vice versa).
